Domi on Missing Paris by One Spot

EDITORS NOTE: Showing how strong she is, amidst the disappointment of missing a big goal, Domi hoped right onto the podium, placing 3rd at the inaugural Challenge Cap Quebec this July! Big congrats Domi - we are so proud!

Hello RTS readers. I wanted to take a moment to share with you the emotions and reflections following my recent journey towards qualifying Canada a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics. It has been an incredibly close and challenging path, one that unfortunately fell just short by a single place.

The qualification process, spanning two intense years and focusing on accumulating points from the best 12 races, culminated in me narrowly missing out on securing the 55th spot at the start line by just 170 points.

If the Olympics were to include 56 women in Triathlon, I would have made it, but unfortunately, only 55 get to start. The disappointment has been something I carry with me daily. Processing this setback has been tough, as I analyze every aspect that led me to this point.

There were moments within my control and others that were not. I reflect on what could have been done differently, recognizing that it ultimately came down to subpar performances when it mattered most this spring. Falling short by such a slim margin is undoubtedly the hardest part to accept.

Currently, I am allowing myself the necessary time to heal. Being with my community and loved ones has been a source of strength. I am grateful to everyone who supported me along this journey. The encouragement and belief have meant everything.

Although this chapter did not end as hoped, I know that my journey in this incredible sport is far from over. There is still so much more I want to contribute and achieve.

The support of the RTS community means the world to me, and I look forward to sharing more moments and experiences with you in the future.
